Catalog Number : THEOM 010
Release Date : 6 june 2009

Joining forces with the Minsk-based whiz kid Maxim Samos, who makes his second appearance on Theomatic, An-2 delivers two mid-paced numbers that naturally blend the elements of funk, rock and disco. Sometime you may find yourself in a mood when you are not worried about past troubles and there is a calm confidence that from now on everything in the future will be just fine. And this is what the new Theomatic release from An-2 is about.

Label: DFA
Catalog Number : dfa2212 Release Date : May 2009 Genre: House, Nu-Disko

Walter Jones has been releasing music over the past ten years or so, and yet over this duration he's only released a handful of singles. This latest release is sure to be a high profile affair, finding a home on the persistently excellent DFA imprint, and 'I'll Keep On Loving You' lays down a commanding piece of old fashioned electro-disco, particularly notable for its blurry, washed out vocals and stately downtempo synth-funk. Next, 'Living Without Your Love' weighs in with a bassline that's halfway between 'Another One Bites The Dust' and Daft Punk's 'Around The World' before sublime synths, twangin' guitar and vocal edits pile into the mix to round off a delightful piece of grade-A rose-tinted disco.

Oblio - Principle Of Discovery
Date of release: 15 december 2008
Label: Codek Switzerland
Genre: Deephouse / Ambient-techno
Tracklist:
A1 Epicureanism
B1 Principle Of Discovery
B2 Faculty Of Reincarnation
This EP just blew me away the first time I heard it....
Oblio aka In Flagranti drops a serious good peace of music on us.
The track A "Epicureanism" is a slow house track filled with dreamy synth pads, just a perfect melancholic balearic soundscape, very nice!
The B1 track is more in the same mood but with a bass-line
Ending with the beautiful track "Faculty Of Reincarnation" filled with top notch arpegios and spacious synth lines. Ambient-techno/electro at it's very best.
You might also want to check out the first EP Oblio put out on Codek "The Crux Of The Matter". More of the same greatness.. Very well recommended!!

Some info's taken from the DJhistory site:
A whole album of never-heard original disco, lovingly retouched by the world’s finest remixers. In 1979 the cream of French and British session musicians gathered to record some of the most scorching disco music ever committed to vinyl. As a series of ‘Disco & Co’ albums on the Tele Music library label, this ended up as radio talk-show sound-beds and backing music for car chases on French cop shows. Le Sweeney, anyone? The few copies that slipped out were highly prized: today an original copy of the Arpadys LP goes for £300, if you can find one. As a service to disco, DJhistory has unearthed the original tapes and recruited an all-star cast of splicing fingers – the Unabombers, Ray Mang, the Idjut Boys, Leo Zero, Mudd, Al Kent, Faze Action, Mudd and Toby Tobias – to polish them up for today’s dancefloors. The results speak for themselves.
Essential !!

8000below - The Breathe EP
Date of release : 21 november 2008
label: Drizzly Germany
Genre: Lounge
Very nice EP indeed.
My favourite tracks are Samba Town and Natural Super Woman.
Samba town is a laidback bossa tune witht great vocals, guitar and mellow rhodes.
Natural Super Woman is a great jazzy tune.
Some info's taken from the 8000below myspace:
8000BELOW was the brain child of Leeds based producer Bob Brazill. Working with a variety of talented singers and other musicians ,the aim was to produce an eclectic album of mixed styles with the emphesis on the chilled out and easy listening side of sound. Since signing a publishing deal with Universal Music ,production of the album has stepped up a gear and should hopefully be finished in the near future.
We will be looking out for the album !
